Super Jet RRP pole help !

RRP pole and I can't find my old instructions with the torque specs on the 2 tubes. anyone happen to have that info handy??

I used the specs My dad told me in the late 70's. Turn until it gets tight then just a lttle more.


J/K with ya I am not sure about specs but it works fine.

Ha.. that is my usual method. I just thought i had read the tubes would distort if not tightened correctly. maybe that was put in the instructions to keep people from using an air impact gun!

taken from the RRp instructions,

tighten the 8mm allen bolts in sequance with a 1/4 turn at a time to keep constant pressure (tighgten to 15lb/ft or 2,25kg/m

you must go through each set of 3 bolts a couple times to get proper tension as well .
dont forget to install the saftey rod too .

I remembered the multiple tightening sequence and the adjustment rod, but the torque #'s must have been stored in the damaged brain cells... lol

did not do that... is that a necessity for fresh water? pole was on my sn for 2 years - bolts and tubes look basically new, i did have to hit the cast parts with turtle wax ice to make the black nice and dark again.....

Pretty much all of the bolts used in watercraft are greased (anti seize, thread lock, etc) from factory to prevent water corrosion. I recommends you to grease those bolts that will be in the water often.

well i guess since every bolt underneath and in the engine compartment has something on it I might as well go through all the bolts on the pole.... gives me a reason to work on the ski tonight. now I just have to wait for (tomorrow) my delivery from Santa (jetmaniac) so i can be all done.....(for now) having carpal tunnel surgery 12/6 & 1/3 so I will be useless for a while.

needed, cant say for sure but its part of preventative maintenance. a little prep goes a long way
