Freestyle RRP pole set up with spring

If your stuck on the limiting rope thing, ATP sells a limiting rope with and bolt-on anchor. Not sure if you can just buy the anchor or not?

Here is a picture of the ATP kit. You can see what I'm talking about

Yeah thats where I will mount it. The tray is wide open.

Another question. The ski has a scupper so should I add a bilge for added security or does it even matter? Im coming from a 94 SN so I like doing subs more than anything. Not sure if I will do them on the BOB but also don't want a bunch of water inside the hull

Yes like yamanube said.

Also I have a bildge and scupper and I use the bildge to also Check my scupper from time to time on every ride while underway. If I turn it on and water is coming out and doesn't stop I know the scuppers leaking or hung open/missing or Ive got another leak.

It already happened to me, a coupler cover bolt came out and got stuck in the scupper flap holding it open while underway.

How I found it is I did as usual turn on the bildge and Check for water while riding and sure enough I got a solid stream. So I let it run and it just kept pumping so I headed straight for shore. Engine bay half full of water still, I was sinking and didn't know it. Could have been real bad!!

Now that was last summer on a 2013 scupper so last month I did my flap inspection and found its starting to crack at the hing point so I ordered replacement flaps, that only cost $3 each

It's not the bolt I would be worried about breaking... The noise is probably because of how tight you have the bolt. I would either backoff the bolt and replace the spring with an OEM or remove the spring altogether and use an RRP spacer. This will allow you to tighten the bolt and rely on the friction to hold the pole in place... Just my 2 cents.

If your referring to the nut jammed on the bolt, a friend of mine had the same problem with a RRP titanium bolt (it fused together some how). He ended up cutting it off. If you happen to get it apart or use another one, be sure to use anti-cease on it.

If you're using an RRP spring tension block make sure you have removed the spring from the block. That will remove some tension and make things easier.

I don't know which Bob this is but from the pics I think he had to remove the poll with bracket attached to be able to get the bolt to clear the hull, definitely needs a vice

The vise worked like a charm. The spring is definitely a tight coil. Do you guys run a RRP pole without a spring? Should I have spacers in between the pole and the bracket? This just has the molded ones on the bottom piece of the pole.

I'am running no spring and a spacer, Blowsion sells an RRP cast poll spacer, I'am sure others do too, the billet poll and cast use a different a Spacer.

I'd like to try both a spacer and a spring though, like the other member did

Have you rode a ski with a tight poll ? takes a little getting used too

My brothers fx-1 had a tight pole and it felt weird to me. My SN has a spring but it never stayed floating on its own. I think I'll try it without a spring and see how I like the feel of it. Then try an oem spring if I need more let off. I'll look into getting a spacer too

I've tried no spring too and just can't get use to it. I find myself adjusting the height of the pole all the time. It's one of those things that's totally user preference.

Here's how the spring looks now. I'm going to try and bend it a little more so it's not as tight and go from there. I might just see how no spring feels too. The last thing I want to do is fight a pole that keeps wanting to come up on its own. Thanks again to @Harbor for all of the help. Really has gone the extra mile in getting me ready for the water. Thanks to everyone else too. This sport is full of mysteries!

I used a heavy duty spring on my build with a BOB bracket and Titan billet pole.
I had to heat and make several bends to make it work right. It's easy to do with a propane torch if you have the vise.
Nothing is plug and play on these, assemble, remove, modify, reassemble. Don't get frustrated. The build will take 3 times as long as you think it will to do it right, but the end result is worth it. It's just metal and fiberglass, everything can be modified to work.
