Super Jet RTV for Manifold - Headpipe gasket

Would a small amount of hi-temp RTV work as a gasket from the bpipe manifold to headpipe?

Ive seen this used as an exhaust manifold gasket on cars many times...

Has anyone tried this?

If you still have the original gasket put that on with RTV but let it dry completely before doing anything to prevent from getting a leak. That is what I did before a trip one summer and it worked fine. Just run it on the hose first to check for leaks.

The old gasket is blown to pieces... lol

I have a feeling that the rtv will work just fine...
