300/440/550 Runnin way to hot

So I have a js550 with a coffman half pipe on it, and it's getting extremely hot. It melted the corner of my gas tank already. If you open the hood after it's run for a couple of minutes and drop water anywhere on the pipe itself, it will sizzle and evaporate immediatly. It has the oem manifold going to the pipe, and that's getting warm too. The only thing that I can think is that the water jackets between the engine and pipe are coroded or clogged, and not letting enough water pass through it to keep it cool. I already changed the halfpipe gasket, and that didn't help any. There are 2 pissers, and they have plenty of flow. The ski runs amazing except for the heat.

Did you put the gaskets made to be run with a coffman's half pipe? It won't cool with oem gaskets. Factory pipe sells the ones cut for a half pipe.

if you are using a jetsport manifold then 1 of the three gaskets is different and if a stock one is used the pipe will not get any water

I used an oem gasket. It has the oem manifold, and a coffman halfpipe. When I pulled the halfpipe off, the only shot for water to go through was a tiny pinhole. I cleaned the carbon out of it, ant with the gasket that I had, there was an opening for it.

I'm running the oem manifold. The only gasket I have replaced goes between the oem manifold and the halfpipe. From the pictures, it looks like it's the middle gasket that is different.

yes this is correct if you a going back towards the motor the second one from the pipe has holes in it for water to pass through and a stock one doesn't. Get that replaced before you ride again. I just made mine out of gasket paper and it is working fine. If you go to the factory pipe website and go to the 550 half pipe there are directions for installation that will clear things up. I know you have a coffmans but all half pipes work the same.

I have been using a homemade gasket for years now without issue. Just trace the OD of the stock gasket and then cut the channels in it as per the PDF I posted.
Good thing you discovered it early. Some guys have melted their gas tank and/or overheated the motor.

Well, I pulled the pipe apart tonight, and neither the first or second gasket had water ports in them.. I traced them out and made new gaskets. I'll see tomorrow if it works or not.
