FX-1 Running funny

I got a fx1 and it runs good on the trailer but when u put it in the water ..it makes a dud.dud.dud dud sound like its hitting the rev limiter ..but does the rev limiter go out or does ur ski even start whats the deal what do I need to check

Will it rev up on the trailer or does it just idle well when under no load.

In the water check for water coming out of the pisser

Temperature of your head and pipe, throw some water on it to see if it sizzles or is it just warm to the touch

Lastly could just be plain ol carb tuning. Has it ever run well, any new modifications like a pipe?

Ran great until this .has a red riva pipe out of water it revs out until u hit the rev limitter of course ..water comes out of the pisser ..someone told me it might be the Heat sensor ..but how do u by pass that.. I will have to check if it is getting hot .even to touch

It does the duh duh duh about half throttle to quarter

Sounds like it's getting too hot. It's prob running fine on the trailer because your not running it long enough to get it too hot. I know they have some kind of sensor so that when they get too hot they hit the rev limiter at about a quarter throttle it's happened to me before. Check all your water lines for any clogs or incorrect hook up maybe.

Thats what im thinking sand or some $hit ..need to check but how do ya by pass the heat sensor...do they go bad can my cdi/rev limiter be bad .

Edited my last post before I saw your reply, maybe it will help. I don't know any way to bypass it, I've heard of some sort of rev limited mod but i don't know how to do it.

Anything can go bad. You have to open your ebox it's the black and pink wire to disconnect the temp sensor. Make sure your cooling line is running through so you dont overheat your engine. I had similar issues when I changed my pipe out though carb needed to be rejetted and tuned

start with your filter, its gonna be dirty!!! clean it out and run it, also the clear plastic piece on the pump side of your carb should be tight or straight if its concaved replace it when you can
