FX-1 Running funny

I got a fx1 and runs good on the trailer but when u put it in the water quarter throttle it does a duh duh duh duh ..like its hitting the rev limiter .do they go bad I mean if it mess up would the ski start or is there something ele I need to check

What all has been done to it mod wise?

Strange symptom, could be an air leak but not a lot of info to work off of.

Ran find in daytona a year ago then came home the spring time started tgis crap ..has head .pipe .and carb rebuilt .cuz I thought that might be the prob but nope
