Does it still allow for air to get through it? Your feet would get really hot if that stuff just acts as a cover and doesnt allow air through.

There's the rub....it doesn't allow fabric to breath, and it wears off quickly. I still say there is an app where this is; the shiznay

I tried coating the inside of my old phone. It worked okay. It was messy though and rubbed off like a sticky residue. It would work okay if you could coat the whole inside of the phone, and it would save it if you dropped it in the toilet and retrieved it quick. You could coat stuff that doesn't get any physical abrasion on a ski, like a b pipe, or the outside of billet steering, or a billet engine, but I just use fluid film because it's easier and cheaper.
