I remember a thread a while back where someone had the same issue with a 650 motor. Ended up breaking the water jacket off the head with the dome half still corroded to the head. Glad I dont live near salt :bigeyes:

im buying an engine locally actually. $300 for a running 650 with exhaust, electrics, and carb. I considered getting a 750 out of one of the sit downs off craigslist, but decided it was just a little too much work for this winter and then i got a giant sit down floating around in the yard.
