Same issue in Muitliple Skis

So here's the sitch

We have a WB1 with a Kawasaki 1100 and a WB1 with a 701 in it. Both skis are relatively new to us however we did build both drive-lines. I'm looking for a simple solution that is plaguing both skis

The issue

Both skis start great on the trailer, have good compression, fresh batteries and tight connections. In the water, both skis fire up great, and rev up like they should, HOWEVER, intermittently they both will die while riding. Flat out die. As if you pull the landyard. Both skis have new SS switches and we have disconnected the OEM connection and ruled out that issue. Fuel filters on the skis have been cleaned internally and new in line filters as well. We've started swapping major components (Carbs/ Eboxs) however would like to hold off until I get some input here.

This happens randomly at 1/8 throttle, through to WOT (Which physically hurts when the 1100 dies mid corner) and at odd intervals. Sometimes Every 5/10/15 seconds, up to every 3-4 minutes. It never happens at idle on or out of the water.

For the moment I won't list out the setups of both skis because I'm hoping someone knows something obvious that could be affecting both skis here.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and hopefully sharing your much needed knowledge

Mike

Put in new oem fuel lines. I had a similar issue, even putting in new fuel lines originally, but there must have been debris or an air leak, but caused a similar problem. Put in a old OEM fuel line and worked like a champ. I swapped all kinds of stuff before that. Worth a shot.

heres a thought...The only common denominator for both is most likely the fuel that you are putting into both skis....maybe a bad batch or two.....water contamination, or very fine debris, crystals. blocking the filters again with dirt you cant even see......completely disconnect the inline filters and blow through them in both directions...if you feel resistance...change them....inspect carbs inside for water, check bottom of fuel tanks, etc

My B1 was doing the exact same thing. I messed around with the fuel selector a little bit and decided to let it run on On ( I usually run on Reserve) and badda bing. Fixed.

Think you got some bad gas.

If there is water in the gas, remember they seperate. But when you start moving they will get mixed up, then you will suck gas, then water, then gas again,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, check your fuel tanks.

Going to have 10gal of 93 with Skicraft to get rid of I guess... Should I blow out the fuel lines and clean out the carbs?

First check the inline filters for clear no resistance flow. Blow with your mouth. Then check the fuel in the tanks at the lowest point for contaminants of any kind, and last I would remove and strip carbs and blow all flow zones out with air pressure,/ carb cleaner if you found any evidence in the first points

If there was that much water in the tankand youre letting the motor run and then lean stall repeatedly, I would expect to find internal damage. It might still show good compression, but it's a matter of time before a major failure.

Had a similar issue.. likely a newby mistake on my end but i had a 62t exhaust manifold gasket with a 61x cylinder.. ran great out of the water and for a bit in the water. Had enough water leaking randomly to stall it out once in a while
