I will put it this way I have a bunch of hot rods cranks in engines seeing everyday use,I have never seen one come back.A couple of years ago I installed a bunch of SBT engines, damn near every one of them came back,You make up your own minds ,I will say no more on the issue.

The Mexican comment was not really needed IMO.

Why does everybody think the word "Mexican" is a bad word?

If he said, "I would never buy that American made piece of junk crankshaft" you would not thought twice about it.

Now re-word the same statement to......

"I would never buy that Mexican made piece of junk crankshaft".......

and now you have what is perceived as a racial comment.

Hello???? People in Mexico are "Mexicans"...it is not a dirty word...get over it.

Well since everyone is sayiong OEM cranks have better webs, let me ask you guys this question? What do you do Kawasakis where the rod pin is part of the web and you have to use two Hot Rod's or WSM, ect webs so you have the removeable pins during a rebuild?

I once replaced a crankshaft in a small pin Kawie 750. I got my dealer to give it to me at their price and I had to pay tax/shipping. So basically they didn't make any money on the part. Still cost me like 450 or 500! Ouch...

Well after seizing a bunch of top ends, I sold it to some guy on eBay. The rear bearing felt a tad notchy and I told him up front. The rod bearings still felt ok. He is still running it to this day in his 750 SX.. or last time I talked to him it was... I was leary of it and was afraid to ask.

Then again i have seen 10+ year Kawie 650 SX & X2's still running on the same original crank. Then again they aren't running high comp and hp....

Like I said earlier I started using the hot rods cranks when they came out,to the best of my knowledge all of those boats are still running, sadly I cannot say the same of the SBT cranks.

Well i've been running the sbt crank all summer. I'm using a riva head, pipe, and carb, and running total loss. so far it has held up well. i even broke my pole and sank the ski in the ocean. i was towed in underwater for about 1/2 mile by Matt.
i was able to get the water out and fog the motor but couldn't start it because my total loss died. i got sick later that night and wasn't able to mess with the ski till 3 days later. got it going and still running strong. i paid $275 shipped for that sbt crank you can't beat that.
