SBT strikes again!!!

.......and this is why I REFUSE to use SBT pistons! Probably less than 75 hours on this customers 1200. NO, I did NOT do the work on this, I'm just cleaning up the mess. I verified squared off thrust side of the c-clip was facing out like it was supposed to be. I've seen this SEVERAL times. NEVER seen it with the regular circlips other pistons use. But hey, it's your machine, do whatever you want.

Yeah that's going to leave a mark , I build 1200's all the time, I have never had one come back yet , once you fix all of Yamaha's mistakes they run pretty well.

........and again!! Tore down this Seadoo 951 today. Hmmmm, piston and head both banged up good. The coating on the piston skirt is not very worn, leading me to believe this didn't run very many hours before failing. C-clip missing on one side. You can see where it rode up and down on the cylinder wall for a while too. That's 2 this season already at my small time shop!
