Surfriding ScottS rail mod attempt

Well after riding scotts ski for about the 5th time(best handling superjet hands down), I decided i couldnt wait any longer for a particular someone to help me attempt this mod(not scott). So here we go. The Plan is to widen the flat part of the rail to 2 inches and taper out to around 3 1/4 at the bottom(should i got wider /shorter) these are based on scotts specs which i like but any other measuments and ideas would be great.for reference

First started off with cutting the rails as flat as possible.

Second lots of grinding and sanding to get a good surface for the biax to bond to

Then i got pink foam( which i went to 4 different stores in jacksonville to find) and outlined the rail. Then cut out some of the foam so when i apply it to the rail it will sit flush and give me a flat surface.

I use 1/2 thick wood as a backer to help support the foam when i apply material and screwed from the bottom up so it will be easier to remove once first layer is down on the top.

this is as far as ive gotten and next plan to start shaping the foam in the next day or 2.

Looking good. It's amazing how light that mod makes the ski feel. Feels like you're riding a 50lb ski and skimming along on the surface.
