In Ketsair ski we installed a home depot check valve and we also centered the PVC outlet incase the valve ever went bad we could just take a rod and knock a hole through the check valve and install a 24/7 scupper.

Im not running either. I ride flatwater 85% of the time and I also leave the ski in water overnight so a large bilge system works best for me. If I were going to do it I would use the home depot valve.but thats my oppinion.

Here's the company I got my one-way from.

I just went to a plumbing supply store that was a dealer and they ordered one for me.

which one did you use? a 2" with a 1/2 # spring?
these look like you don't have to make such a big hole to install.
i want to put something like this near the firewall, and a scupper on the back.
right now i have a single 1100 rule, but it doesn't seem to pump much more than the 500 after reducing the hose from 1-1/8 to 3/4 especially when the coupler is spinning and churning everything up.

I used this one:
PVC Adjustable Spring Check Valves

77920 1225-20 5 lbs. 2" 9 3/4"

Except I cut the valve in half, changed out the spring to a 1/2 pounder, glued it back together (adding an extra 1/4" of throw) and reinforced the "seam" by using a piece of PVC as a sleeve. I probably won't do that again though, it was a little too much work.

Here's a couple of pics of mine. The valve is about a foot from the firewall, so it's "protected".

I have the newer 24-7 scupper with alum plate. I have very little leakage. We sat on the skis and paddled around at party cove last year for 3 or 4 hours (looking at the girls) anyhow I had to use my bilge like maybe once an hour so that isn't much leakage. I can definiteally live with that since it flows so much water.

ha, I saw those flo one-ways on a clearance sale at my neighbors shop, like 8 bucks or something less.

Will water pressure from forward motion really be enough to open the spring? They seemed pretty tough to open to me. They had one with a weaker spring, but it seemed cheap and prone to breaking. I think Ill just stick with my 360 GPH bilge for now.

I run a scupper from XFT, 3 inch keeps my ski totally dry and doesn't leak when the ski is floating. A little pricey but you get what you pay for.

If you change the oem 5 lb spring out for a 1/2 lb spring, they work just fine. Otherwise, I don't think there will ever be enough pressure to open the 5 lb one.

there are some of them out there other than my own but i dont think anybody has gotten to ride them yet or maybe install .
Brian, can you pm me your cell number so we can talk about my FX-1? I sent you a PM maybe 1/2 hour a go.
Will the flange fit on the back of my FX-1, or is it too big?
