This is my first project ski. I am looking into putting a sea doo 951 engine into my 95 750 sxi. I am wondering if anyone else has done this, and would like any and all input on doing such a project.....how it worked out for ya ?, problems you ran into ?...etc,etc.

All input would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

Major PITA. It's been done once, but wasn't easy or cheap. From what I remember it didn't work well, and got parted out shortly after completion.

dasa, go big or go home lol.

honestly you will find that the sx hull is more of a issue than the motor. If you just want speed then the kawi 750 is fine, just build it up. If you want freestyle then I would honestly consider a different hull. The kawi hull is a tank and not designed to be flipped or tossed around as easy as a sj or aftermarket hull. If your considering motor swap money you might want to look at the for sale section, there have been quite a few nice skis lately for about the same price as a motor swap. Ive got a ton of money tied up in my ski trying to get low end kick and its just not going to happen...

That being said, I am amazed at my top end of my current setup, thats where the kawis shine, 1/3 throttle and above is sweet.

If you want to go fast for cheap then install an 1100. If you want more thrust a larger pump is needed too.
