Is this bad? Found it while winterizing my dad's 98 gsxl. I couldn't see any leaks while it was running. Maybe the fitting needs to be resealed or possibly a hairline crack? I probably should've cleaned it up a bit for a better look but forgot :439: Thanks,

It a water regulator for injecting water into the chamber, it works off of the pump pressure to add water to the chamber for low end and when the pressure goes up it then bypasses right into the waterbox itself, thats the reason that it mounted there... They do go bad all the time, go ride it and watch it, if it leaks order a new on from seadoo. Don't bother with trying to rebuild it. It has a sm bleed hole like a car water pump and when it goes bad it dumps out water thru the hole. Sometimes on 3 seaters they can leak so bad that they burn up the pistons from over drying the pipe and causing the cylinders to lean out way too much!

Ya, I've rebuilt mine on my XP before with no problems. It just needed a new bellow and cleaned up. That rubber bellow in there is $25, Damn Sea-poo!

That regulator really makes a big difference in performance.

Thanks guys. I'll see what I can do. I won't be able to get it in the water until Spring but there was no obvious leak running off the garden hose. Resealing, checking out the bellows sounds easy enough for starters. A new regulator is $183  from riva.

yea - what supertune said.

they all leak after a few years. usually just the seal at thread from waterbox fitting to water regulator - locktite thread sealant or rectoseal - teflon tape sucks.

if not pop the top off and check the bellows - they usually use a wire clamp that rubs a hole in bellows - i usually replace with spring clamp or small wire tie, but clean the cut end off well so it does not rub through.

decent used ones Raves around all the time - 20 bucks or so - just post a wtb in spring if you need one. i have an entire 951 waterbox assy from '00rx - w-box, insulation used on 99+, rave and hose to resonator i'd ship to VA for 45 bucks. i don't think you need it though.
