I read back looking for a mention and must have missed that link. I guess i expected to see more of a response afterwards too. :dunno:

well found out today... 3 out of 4 oem SJ mounts that are 7 mths old were ripped...put in 4 couch mounts today and ground the keepers to fit around them....motor feels real firm in place now...alignment is fine with no shims and mounts moved outward....changing motor mounts is a backache job ! :grumble:

Got the raider monkey grips in my ski now and I love the way they feel. Vibration is minimal witch is perfect for the cold fusion couplers vibration through the drive line is almost non existent. I'm sure this wil make the whole pump last longer. More vibration is felt on the water but its a small difference. They JUST fit on my ski without modification and alignment was just right. I think they will hold up.
Urethane look sick but that showed up the same day I got my monkey grips so I'm running these!

There were some urathane ones made back in early 90's and they never broke (race days mind you) but everything around them broke as they were way too rigid. These may be different but those back then were like hard mounting your motor so you can imagine the distruction caused. They went straight to the trash.
Monkey grip Couch mounts for me, time tested.

these are around 70 durometer on the race and stock durometer of around 55-60 on the rec. there is a lot to the urethane that will change the rebound and vibration transfer other than jut the rigidity.

i will say that alignment is the key to having it under control even with out the a/m mounts.

I will be running a set for Allen here in my SN this 2011 season, with flips still pretty hit or miss for me I think they will be put to the test.

HAHA Ya Tanner.. You will definitely put them to the test after all the mounts you went through last summer.. :pokey: Will be good to see some testing from a known hardcore rider that I personally know.. Of course it makes no difference to me since I am on a Kawi, but good for knowlege to fix all the friends skis.. :lmao:

The junkies found that new monkey grips failed even faster than new oem yami sj mounts, and they were always stiffer and transfered slightly more vibration to your ski and body in the water.I think its hard to beat the stock gp800 mount, you can get one used and broken in,transfers no vibration and lasts forever. has anyone ever broke a couch mount that we know of?

stanton let us know if any of your mg ever break

we have them for the kawie also... they were the first mount that was made, due to me destroying them frequently..

I've been running the couch mounts from Jetmaniac all season, it was assmebled for Daytona in Jan. I took a pretty hard nose dive in Texas a few weeks ago, and after pulling my engine to repair the hull I found one broken mount. It was about 3/4 separated. I obviously riding with it this way for at least a couple days, and really I suppose it could have happened before. I always tug the corners of my engine after a hard ride with some pancakes/bails and I've been super happy with couch mounts. In fact I'm 99.999% sure I gave my engine the old motor mount tug test after that weekend in the surf and didn't even find the broken mount.

Just got my set yesterday. They look good & strong, and I'll be putting them in after Daytona.
I forgot to ask before, is the center threaded part stainless?
