Shoot he could be shop foreman at sbt. Or better yet, head of quality control.
Sounds like something my pops would do! He's been a logger, mechanic, welder, engineer, for 50 years. He has tools for straightening crankshaft rods and when he wants more compression on an engine he welds and reshapes the pistons. They do a lot of weird stuff in third world countries, apparently new parts are hard to get in some places .
The guy that used to bore my cylinders showed me something that they do over there on pistons.
The pistons are of course cam ground , bigger at the bottom than at the top, so you take a piston and put it in a vise using a couple of pieces of heavy cardboard between the piston and the jaws to protect the piston .
You want the wrist pin holes to line up with the vise jaws and the top of the wrist pin holes slightly below the tops of the vise jaws , now tighten the vise, I don't know exactly how much you tighten the vise but you have to squeeze the piston a bit and recheck it with a micrometer , what it does is it slightly distorts the piston and when you measure the piston at the bottom edge you will have picked up several thousandths of an inch in piston size.
On cylinders that were just worn and not gouged out those guys were doing this and straightening the bores with a hone instead of ordering oversized pistons and boring the cylinders. It works and I personally have seen it done.
Maybe its all faked for utube and hes really using sbt reman engines. =PHere is the part I don't get , he has a lathe but he is beating on the pipe with a hatchet ?
Everyone of these vids I watch in undeveloped countries they all have lathes, I guess a ball peen hammer is like gold over there I wonder if they would like to make a trade ?
Not an SBT , not even a watercraft engine, reeds on the bottom mean outboard powerhead as for being faked yeah probably so.Maybe its all faked for utube and hes really using sbt reman engines. =P
Mr Ho has nothing on these damn Alabama rednecks, you should see some of the stuff I have seen around here !Fake? Mister Ho had them two Engines rockin' and revin' side by side on the table. I was wondering when one of them PTO Couplers was going to bite him
And what about his Flambe Motor Mount build where he lights up that Rubber Glue and then presses the new Mounts on the Vise? Bam! New Motor Mounts! Who needs Rhaas Mounts?
Love how he throws all the Nuts, Bolts and Washers into the dirt Ground and somehow finds them all again and keeps track of where each piece goes. C'mon!
And who among us can revive burned-up Stator Coils with just some Water and a Toothbrush?
And Mr Ho is a DaVinci with that Spray Can and Turn Table. He painted the entire Ebox Cover without over spraying any Wires
Mister Ho is a Communist Propaganda Man who's mission is to psyche out Americans with his impossible skills
Real or not, his videos are total Wrench Porn
Maybe you just need a few yeehaws thrown in on the video and it would be more authentic. Ha ha seriously I love you guys. One of my backet list things to do is to buy an old pickup and drive through the deep south with my wife.
