I have been getting a bunch of people asking me if the ride is happening, So I thought I will go ahead and spill the bad news.

As of right now the Campground is going through major renovations and is currently RV only, with no tent campers. From talking to the owners, they will most likely keep it RV only. I have tried to work in an exception for our group but at this point no luck.

Without the campground to host, the lodging is just too scarce up there to make the event worth it, the next closest campground is in Kalkaska about 25 minutes from the lake. I will continue to check on the status of the campground to see if there is anything we can work out, but I would not hold your breath. If anything changes for 2014 and the following years Ill be sure to post up the info.

Thanks to all those that have attended the past years, and made them great events! If you do want to ride America's most beautiful lake hit me up I go up there about a half dozen times a year, and Ill be glad to answer any questions you might have.

So lets do a different spot instead.. Grand traverse bay has some nice waves and the state campground is right across the street or maybe somewhere else??

Except most people liked torch because of the sandbar and crowd. It also had an exotic vacation feel to it. Nothing will compete with torch. Let's make this happen again

If someone wants to step up and make another ride, somewhere else by all means go for it!

Yes, Torch is truly amazing. Like I said I go up about 6 times a year or so, maybe more this year. So if anyone wants to check it out hmu and ill you know when I will be there, or I can answer any questions you might have.

I know I'm going there for the 4th of July, I just don't think bringing the ski up for that day would be a good idea. Probably won't be in the right state of mind to be driving anything haha

I wouldnt want to be on the water on Fourth of July weekend there. Better on the sand bar with a adult beverage.

Oh yea. My lake is always super packed and idiot teenagers driving their parents 100k wake board boats you learn to watch your back more than anything. I love lakes that are packed for the non stop wake...
