ok, here's the story...


Seeg contacts me about a squarenose nose piece...we haggle, make a deal and he says "I will paypal you first thing in the AM"

no sweat, part will be boxed up and ready.


So, I come into work the next day..check my PP account and find an ECHECK :banghead: that will not clear for a week or so



so, I hold the part til the check clears



The echeck clears last night (4/11)...and I email the guy today telling him I am going to ship the part out right away


he then gets pissed and demands a refund.....then tries to tell me that echeck is "the way I have my properties set to receive funds" and that all payments are this way. Dont try and bull******** me, I know how it works....


in his PM's I can see his chest puffing out as he is trying to intimidate me whatever dude




bottom line. Why would I send a part to someone with a low post count that I dont even know?

That is one thing I hate about paypal, you get prompted if you want to make a CC payment and not Instant (Paypal balance or eCheck). If you click no it goes eCheck if there is nothing in your balance.

I overdrew my checking account once because I keep no/little money in that account.


He probably goofed and tried to blame you.

My side:

I sent IDOK a private message last Thursday night, asking if he would take $55 shipped USPS Priority mail and ship it the very next morning. I also stated I need it soon for an upcomming paint job, thats why I asked next morning, USPS Priority.
IDOK replied Friday morning with this:

I then paypaled him that morning, and his reply was:

thanks man..Ill have it out asap!

It's now the following Thursday, and ski is getting painted this weekend. I get a private message from him saying he will ship tommorrow morning. :banghead:

Well, the nose piece is pretty worthless now, unless I want a white nose piece on a Yamaha Blue ski.

IDOK's excuss was not the funds were sent Echeck from Paypal, and that he needed to wait for a check from Paypal to clear? As if they would be sending him a bogus check. There was no selection to send an instant payment or Echeck, and I can post screenshots if need be. He also did not contact me at all on the shipping delay. I am also a Verified Premier Member with Paypal.

Now, I am the one for getting negative feedback?
What did I do wrong?

An echeck is just like you writing a personal check to a person. It has to clear out of your bank account before the funds are fully available to the person you sending them to.

Just b/c you didn't have the option to send it via echeck doesn't mean that it didn't get sent to IDOK that way.

I see that Seeq is at fault here, not IDOK.

Keep diggin' Seeq, your gonna hit China here eventually.

YES! it can be cancelled just like a paper check

bottom line is simple:

pay by echeck, no problem...but you wait for it to clear

Pay with instant transfer or CC...shipping is immediate

The check isn't from Paypal. It is a check that comes from you (electronic funds transfer from your bank). Once it clears from Paypal, it gets sent to the recipient.
If you have insufficient funds in your bank account or a wrong account, the check will NOT clear.

if you had no option for sending an e-check then how did you send one? if you had the option to do an e-check you should have had the option to do an instant transfer

u already know the answer


the nosepiece being useless to him now is BS. if he is using a reputable paint shop or doing it himself he should have the forsight to have extra for touch ups and what not. if it is mixed at the same time he should have no problem painting the nose piece when it arrives

It's inferred that when paying by check/eCheck the item will NOT ship until payment clears. It is not the same as cash or Credit Card.

When discussing terms, you must be specific. It is assumed you will pay by Credit Card, Cash, then eCheck.

as far as how to proceed - I would just refund. He might get the nosepiece and decide to be a real deckhead and refute with Paypal.
