Looks like a lack of communication regarding shipping practices. It usually goes unsaid that you wait to ship until the check clears, but that wasn't communicated, just "I'll ship" asap. That would cause confusion between both parties. I'd call it a technicality. "I'll ship as soon as possible" meant in this situation "as soon as check clears"

Here's what paypal says:

If you have registered a credit card and a confirmed bank account, Instant Transfer from your bank account is the default method of payment when the PayPal account balance is insufficient to complete the payment. The default method of payment cannot be changed; however, if you would like to fund your payment with a credit card, click the Change link when sending a payment and choose the credit card you would like to use.

That means you need to manually change to Echeck.

That is a grey area...... gonna have to look into it, at one time we said that during feedback, posting of PM's was ok as long as the use was to show factual information regarding the transactions....... Both parties have the right to defend themselfs as long as they remain respectful.

I also agree that one should wait to the e-check to clear; e-checks really are a pain in the ass. They are only good, IMO, when the fees would be really high, and the shipment is not time sensitive. I HATE recieving them!

ok, here's the story...


Seeg contacts me about a squarenose nose piece...we haggle, make a deal and he says "I will paypal you first thing in the AM"

no sweat, part will be boxed up and ready.


So, I come into work the next day..check my PP account and find an ECHECK :banghead: that will not clear for a week or so



so, I hold the part til the check clears



The echeck clears last night (4/11)...and I email the guy today telling him I am going to ship the part out right away


he then gets pissed and demands a refund.....then tries to tell me that echeck is "the way I have my properties set to receive funds" and that all payments are this way. Dont try and bull******** me, I know how it works....


in his PM's I can see his chest puffing out as he is trying to intimidate me whatever dude




bottom line. Why would I send a part to someone with a low post count that I dont even know?

and the reason you have no other option available to pay is because you have your paypal balance set-up as your primary source of funding. if you had secondary sources of funding available you would have had that option but since you don't have any other secondary funding sources available you don't have that option

I offered $55 with shipping using Paypal, USPS by the next morning.
IDOK accepted.
Paypaled the only way/option I was given.
IDOK decided not to ship and wait for a Wells Fargo or Paypal check to clear.
Did not communicate this with me.
A week later, ski is now being painted, part hasn't even been shipped, too late for the nosepiece.

I wouldnt send stranger a check or echeck without expecting them to wait for it to clear before sending my merchendise. If i wanted it shipped right away I would have made it my repsonsability(sp) to have told them up front that i'm sending them a check or echeck and is that ok with them.

Come on Seeg you just expect a total strange to say ok I trust this guy let me just send him $50 worth of parts because he seems nice?

Seeg, my guess is that you dont have a credit card or instant transfer for one reason or an other to put on you paypal account . Bad credit, no money in your account at the time of purchase from Idok?

Yes, you sold something before and it went smooth, if you would like to check my ebay account it is Seegster, 100% percent feedback.
However, this transaction did not go so well. Again, I would like a refund on a part that was never shipped. As of 8:43 central time, there has been no activity of a refund on Paypal. The money was taken out of my Wells Fargo account on 4-5-2007, the same day I paypaled you. I would rather not screenshot my account information. In good faith, I can email the admin a screenshot, and verify it all for you or any other doubters.

an e-check works just like a paper check. It does not matter when it clears your bank. When it clears the payee's bank is what is important.

Sorry you don't see it that way - but I'm still going to side with Idok on the whole issue.

As it stands right now, I have no part, no $55, and a neg feedback left about me.

an e-check is like a regular check the funds are not instantly available it still takes 2-3 business days for them to clear before the funds are available. the money may come out of your account but it is probably placed on a hold until the transaction clears then it officially leaves your account.


either way you are still displacing on someone else for some thing is your own fault.

if you are getting the boat painted you can't paint the piece while it is on the boat anyway unless you are doing a .99 paint job and want it to look crappy.
