Blaster Serious :-):-):-):-):-):-): Who would be interested in a Lightweight Blaster Hull

Obviously there are a lot details to be worked out like price, weight, etc. but who would be seriously interested and actually throwing down for a carbon lightweight blaster hull. My first guess would be the cost would be in the 6k-8k range without having worked out all the details but there is a lot of material needed. also my initial guess would be that they would come in around the 300-325 lbs complete weight. I will try and get get more accurate numbers in the next few days but if no one is interested then it isnt worth it. so let me know if you would be interested. post up your throughts. the mold is pretty much already made so please dont go asking for big changes to be made on the hull. thanks.

My blaster manual says it weighs 320lbs? but after the rocker and taking 6 inches off the rear the scale says it is 290.

I can think of 3-4 people that have made molds and attempted to sell "light" Blaster hulls in the last 5 years. Few if any were actually sold.

I would love to see this project finally go to production, I am sure you guys can pull it off! I think there is definitely a market for this type of hull, there are loads of blaster guys out there (who may not necessarily be on any of the forums) that would love to see a carbon blaster hull sitting in the garage.

What are the bare hull weight numbers going to look like? Will there be any upgrades to the stock hull of are we talking straight blaster?

i wont know the hull weight until one gets popped out for myself. the blaster manual says 320 but they are more like 350-375 based on all the ones that i have weighed and people that have chimed in . we will get it as light as possible without sacrificing strength and surf ridability. it will probably be a stock blaster and maybe we can do a minus 2 option or something if we can easily add that to the mold. once we can get a good idea on price and get one popped out i will be looking for people to verbally commit and then put down a deposit. thanks for chiming in, feel free to voice your opinioons.

holy cow, $320lbs on a stock blaster? i watched a number of superjets being weighed in wavedaze and on average that was the weight of a superjet

i would have thought a stock blaster would be around 400lbs

Chad, I like the idea of giving different options. I will assume this can be done by having a drop in plug in the mold? How about some rocker in the nose?

When Yamaha stated the weight for the Blaster they must have ment without the engine. lol The lightweight racing blasters weighed in at 350-375 lbs. Stock blasters come in from 390-415 lbs. We've weighed a few and are alway surprised how much they actually weigh.

I need to weigh mine and report my numbers back to this thread. I didn't do much to save weight but my seat is definitely lighter and my hull is shorter. I reinforced it and made sure it was strong and thick so I'm real curious. It's not a direct comparison to a stock hull but would be nice to see some real numbers posted up here.
