The only Sharks you need to be afraid of are usually found in business suits and are trying to 'get you into the deal of a lifetime'.:cool2:

The ones with teeth only want to give you a kiss and send you on your way.

I've only seen one so far---about a three or four footer though.

There were three "attacks" up here in the Panhandle (Destin, Cape San Blas, and Port St. Joe) last year. They just had an update on the kid from Tennessee who was the Port St. Joe victim. He had to have his right leg amputated due to the injuries he suffered. :frown:

He was fishing (wading) and had bait tied off to his shorts if I remember correctly, so the shark was just following its natural instincts, IMO.

The one with the surfer is a dolphin (look at the shape of the fin) and the black hawk has the refueling pod and tail rotor on the wrong side...

At least you know something isnt thinking about eating you when you ride in Lake MI.

I have seen over one hundred Hammerheads, Great Whites and Tiger Sharks swimming beneath the Skyway Bridge during mating season in the summer.

Also you have to watch out for the alligators at the lakes.

1. Isn't Daytona the Shark Attack Capital of the World? (Well, Volusia County to be exact)

2. Watch out for those Sturgeon in Lake Michigan.... they'll suck your toes off and get 8 feet long...

3. You can swim with Leopard Sharks (1000's of them about 6 feet in length) spawning in LaJolla. If you live around San Diego, you HAVE to do this. Super fun. You can actually touch them. They are vegetarians, however.

4. I HATE alligators. They are my only fear in life. I have f'd up dreams all the time...

OMG!!!!:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

There are not many benefits of riding in the Great Lakes instead of Florida. However, not thinking about being eaten by a shark or gator is a giant plus:biggrin:

Bah! I raise you Columbia River Sturgeon. Commonly over 19ft long, with the record (late 1800's) being a bit over 2000lbs.

I saw a decent sized shark, probably a Tiger, maybe 10ft long right at the end of the runway breakwater at Hickam AFB in Hawaii. Freaked me out as it was only a couple of feet under the surface. I hi-tailed it back around to the shallow cove where we hung out and plopped myself up on the rocks. And no, he didn't seem fazed one bit that I was riding within 10-15 feet of him.

Alligators are evil too, had a friend's ski break down back in the marsh in Charleston with a gator within 50 feet of us. That was the fastest you've ever seen a ski hooked up and towed back to the ramp every, with both of us sitting completely in the trays while I towed.

Damn, that's a pretty big fish...

On the great lakes... screw the stureon, watch out for muskie... they have razor sharp teeth like a baracuda and will easily take off a few toes.

Nice.....luckily, there's nothing nasty in the Columbia or Snake River. No surf either. :frown:

Hah! That's nothing! I'll take your sharks and sturgeon and your muskies, and I'll raise you 2 drunk rednecks in a bass boat! Those suckers can grow to well over 300lbs, and can take your ear right off with their sharp hooks! They're very aggressive and often attack without provocation.

I've heard of those. When does redneck season open and is there a game limit? :haha:

Gators are like big teddy bears, they like to cuddle. There are gators in every lake in florida, I don't even think about them when I ride...
