Superjets don't need more rocker, you just need to know when to transfer your weight. Superjets don't pearl, riders pearl.
On a serious note I hope you're ok, sounds like a painful one.
Pearling:
Superjets do pearl. People can pearl only if they are body surfing. Otherwise, the vehicle that you are on is pearling. You're just along for the ride.
I have surfed many boards in my life with all types of rockers in all types of waves. A rockered out board will pearl, especially on hollow/pitchy waves. Doesn't matter how much weight you have on the back if your timing is off, or if you aint got your crap together on the critical part of the wave. Down you will go.
That being said...Rocker is one of the most important aspects of the boards performance. Nose rocker, center rocker, tail rocker...etc...
Some feel it is the most important aspect of the board but other attributes are sacrificed by it as with anything.
They all influence the board. How it planes, turns, and rides...
The type of rocker you desire depends on what you want the board to do and what type of waves you are riding.
Some people switch to A/M hulls because the SJ has relatively little rocker in it. It shows up when wave riding unless you like those characteristics.
My go to board for 2-4' surf has very little rocker in the front to get into the wave, but then increases through the middle and especially in the back for top turning.
Back to the injuries though
Heal Fast man!!!!
