Super Jet Shorten Squarenose pole 3"

Ok, so i am shortening my SN handpole... if i mess up i will just buy a RN pole but here it goes.
I am going to shorten it from the 'business end' where the bars attach. I started by cutting 3" off the end then rounded it back to its original shape.

were broken, gone and replaced in the 90s!

-3" is as far as i can go for the cable lock to fit.
My goal is to get at least a season out of it then i will upgrade to a hazard bracket/RN pole

edit: Hopefully my SN lasts at least another season, then i will upgrade to a RN hull

With -3 you will have to cut corners out of the hood or make the pole width thiner otherwise it will not drop down level with the hood.....

lol, i thought he was second guessing his mod, shortening the pole is a good thing, i would do it to any pole i had. i did it to my sxi pole and my rn pole, anyone hating the fact he is shortening his pole can suck it. haha.

he is cutting off the steering side so this should not be an issue.

I was second guessing it. The only thing i think i have to worry about is reinforcing the new steering hole because where the hole is originally located it is much thicker

Well it worked although i had to sacrifice some aesthetic quality for the sake of time. I have to get my ski back together before daytona because I was reinforcing too. I just rounded it off and spray painted it. It did work surprisingly well and i was able to chop 3" off! If i remember i will put pictures up later today

I shortened the SN pole but just took 4 inches out of the middle. It is easy, use a chop saw to angle cut it, then scrape out some foam on both sides, epoxy and wrap it back together... did it cause I smashed mine, but I like it alot more...
