Super Jet Shorten Squarenose pole

ok so i have seen all people shorten their handle pole by cutting out of the center. I am planning on getting a hazard bracket/ rn pole eventually but for now i was thinking of cutting the pole from the top and relocating the steering plate about 3" forward. has anybody tried this?

Its easy, this was only about 1.5 inches. The bars are up against the pivot bolt.

so it looks liek you want to just chop off the end of the pole and not move the steering pivot point? GUees it would work, and you would lose some weight, but it is stil going to act as a standard length pole. When you shorten a RN pole you are moving the steering pivot point closer to the front of the ski.

no i want to cut about 3" off the end where that red line i drew is and move the steering pivot 3" by just drilling another hole

ah gotcha...haven;t seen it done yet but it doesn't mean it won't work

ha, ill do it, the worst that could happen is that i would have to spend the money on the rn pole/bracket sooner than later

Adapt a Kawasaki turn plate. Make a bushing for the center and tighten the pivot solid using washers to adjust the slack.
