Custom/Hybrid Should i buy a Bob gen2?

I have a 2007 superjet and am thinking about buying a new gen2 bob to put the guts of my ski into. Whats everyones opinion? I do all lake riding and would like to head to the coast sometime in the near future. Problem is to get a registered boat i would have to send my ski and let ski clinic change everything over so they will give me a hin and title with the bob. Would like to keep my superjet legal so i could build it back up later. Any advice. Is the bob the best way to go? Should i just moddify the heck out of my superjet? Any info. would be appreciated.

If you are wanting to do back flips then I would say yeah otherwise I would keep the sj. My buddy has a Gen 2 and is really happy with it. It's a cool ski i have rode it and like it just took a while to get used to

I think its a matter of what you like and adapting to a new hull design. Ive just pulled the trigger on a BOB G3, and havent tried one. But from what i hears its a funny flickable machine that can be used to fool around on.
But to compare, put a kawa sxr dude on a superjet, he will think is unstable and hate it at first, but when he gets used to it, he will love it :)
But there is miles between the 2 hull designs. BOB being alot lighter, shorter and wider.

im going to say freak. cause its the only A/M ive ridden :D haha.

its actually a good rec ski. very stable and fun. but its a little more money than a gen 2.
i would say ride as many as you can. the easiest is to make your own opinion.

i didnt have a chance to ride em so i just picked the one most people where loving on. and i can say im happy very happy.

I just got my bob g2 and am pretty happy with it ( the hull anyways ) . It does take alot of getting used to but practice makes perfect! IMO it is pretty much a 1 demensional ski. All it wants to do is big air tricks and flips.

A bob is not JUST a backflip ski. So far I've been able to do almost every trick I did with my sj on my bob. Did it take a little while to get used to...yes, but I knew it would be when I bought it. After riding my bob for over a year if I were to get another ski it'd be a G3

What about riding fast and slashing waves in chop and waves? ...is this ski any good in surf, or more of a flatwater boat?

BOB was designed for flat water, so I can promise that it will do the flips and rolls that you want it to do.
We didn't design it with surf in mind, so I won't promise to anyone that it'll be a perfect surf hull.
But there are quite a few guys out there that are using their BOBs for surf and they do enjoy it.
It all depends on how much you are willing to adapt to a new hull.
I've had no issues in the couple of times I've been in the surf on one, but all I've been riding riding for the last 2-3 years is a BOB, so it just felt natural to me.

Has anyone tried custom rear hull extensions on one and taken it in waves!?

Would really like to see more surf vids of one of these.....
