Should I buy an sxr1100 swap?

It’s listed for 6500

It’s the green and black newer style graphics

I don’t even know if it runs well, says call
I read a post from 2016 here, I didn’t want to post on that one.

Good idea or nah?
Friends said, unless it’s a good builder, no. Have yet to call owner. Friends do not know what to look for on a ski like this.

Edit: I did ride an sxr800 in the surf. It was cool. I like the idea of a very fast ski like this. A friend said it could do 65-68 with an 1100. Also said I could flip it in the surf. Ski has been listed over and over, apparently I could get it for around 4-5

Theres a few 1100 swapped skis out by me that i keep eyeing up. I wonder what the fuel mileage in an 1100 swap like this or in a sxr800/SJ hull is like.
I’m a goofy big guy, my friends said it’s a great sized ski for me and some people who have put in the time can totally rock out in the surf.

i know I want a 2stroke.

I’m concerned because I don’t know what to look for neither do my friends

Scam alert . Seems too good to be true.
I’m calling him tomorrow. I sent a text last night and instead of answering my questions he said call me and he built it.

I ran his phone number and it’s been a private registered cell line for almost two decades. Pulls back to an address in Maine where the ski is listed.

Can you elaborate on the too good to be true? It makes me think if this deal does exist I should definitely buy? I don’t know if the hull has to be cut up to fit a 1100. If this swap didn’t junk the hull and it’s a good deal for 4-5k I would definitely consider. There is a brawler on the forums for sale but I’m about 1-2k away from cash in hand. If I can get this ski and it’s a wicked poop deal at 4-5k I’d do it. If not I’m gonna hold out and hope the local ski is available in 3 months.

Edit: again I have no clue what to look for.

I've seen those SXR big boy hulls listed for anywhere from $500 to $1500 from the racers that gut them for the 1500 engine. The 1100 host skis usually can be found for $1000 pretty easily in my area as well - which is not anywhere near the ocean.

There's plenty of conversion bits needed I'd imagine but If someone spends $6000 total on a conversion (i.e. $4000 more for the conversion which seems more than generous) - they're usually not getting that in resale so $4000-$5000 seems totally reasonable.

it would be like using a he road king for freestyle motocross, not the right tool for the job, but if you want to make noise and go in a fairly straight line it would be fine

Talking to a few people running stock 1100's in these hulls they are running low 60's. Few mods like the dry pipe and zeel should make it rip.

Anyone else notice the sparkplugs/coils. (normally the coils are inside the ebox)

I stand corrected. A titanic with a somewhat high top speed. That being said an 800sxr is a much cooler hull for an 1100 swap imo. But since these sea pig 1500s are getting stripped for their Honda civic motors to put in GP1 hulls I imagine we will see more and more of this in the future. I think the 1500 was the worst thing to ever happen to stand up jetskis next to the invention of the homo chariot. It made racing so dangerous, getting speared in the head by a 550 is scary, but a 600 pound cigarette boat with a handle pole on it is game over when a 12 year old runs you over with it. Make jetskis great again and make them fit in my pickup truck bed without a flatbed and a crane.

They really can't with all the emission regulations, the days of a mass production lightweight two stroke jet ski are long gone
