Should I buy rickter

Hey guys, I've got an opportunity to buy a rickter FS1 glass, NOT carbon, with a 900 xscream powervalve motor, single carb, rrp pole and bracket and trim

Hull is in great shape and engine bay is carbon reinforced

Motor looks like it was riden, not completely clean but could definitely use a paint job and polishing up

I can get the ski for 10k. Obviously I'm going to test ride first but I can't find much info on the glass models, only the carbon

I believe it's a 2012 or 2013 model

With a 900 is this ski capable of a fw bf and is it a good deal or should I save up for something a little more lighter

I ride bay and ocean but 85% bay (flatwater or chop or big ass boat wakes)

Btw I have a rn currently

That's what I thought, can't imagine with a single 46 that it could get enough fuel on the top end, not that I care about top end but certainly will go wot from time to time

That's what my buddy and I were thinking.
The only feasible option I could see is a big novi or FS.

Maybe it is a Novi, its possible I just didn't see it. Stock flame arrestor
Still strange to have a single carb, unless po took off carbs and threw what they had on it to sell it, a buddy of mine bought it and called me knowing I was interested

If I don't buy it he'll just resell it but gave me first dibs

$10k might not be a bad deal, it all depends on what components it was built with? (Pump, Pipe, Ignition) That glass hull is going to be almost as heavy as a stock superjet hull though.

Sounds like you might be looking at a nightmare lol. I have made that mistake, saw a lot of nice parts for an unbelievable price. Very much regretted that purchase. Hard to say without seeing it tho. Personally I would not buy a rickter

Fs1 isn't a 2012/2013,theres a fs2 on this Site listed as 2011, Evo's were 2013. And I don't think $10g is much of a deal either, most likely it won't flat water flip either. In its day it was an innovative hull but not by today's standards.

Do your research first in all components like pump pipe motor etc could have old stuff on it

Pipe is bpipe, electronics I don't know without pulling ebox, ride plate is and intake grate look stock (for a rickter I guess)
But yeah if it's not worth it if I can't fw flip it then I'd just get another sj for the time being

I have an fr2 2012 glass as my surf ski and it's heavy,I think with a big enough engine and skill it'll flat water flip ,would imagine you'd be just clearing the water though, they were flatwater flipping the fs1 over here in oz before the xfs was invented :)

Can it be flatwater flipped? Sure. With a beginner, definitely not. It's a great surf ski. To me, the Fs1 feels like a good modded Superjet. Long and heavy with a big tray. Go test ride it. If you like it, buy it.
