Super Jet Should I buy this ski???

That FX-1 looks a little corroded on the inside but perhaps just the lighting in the photo. The square someone offered you for $2k is a great starter. I started on a 650 sx moved to a square and loved it. Now mine is cut up and heavily modded and I still can't find anything I personally like more. I'd go that route.

If you look at the fx1, check the hull and hood over real good, while those graphics look stock, they're not oem and have been replaced, there was never a teal fx1 logo

I'm going to buy the one SN that Doug offered me. Looks like a great starter ski. Thanks for all the help guys! Can't wait to hit the water this summer!

Good choice. I talked to the guy about the ski in cartersville several weeks ago when he first listed it. Appears he has been trouble shooting it for awhile. Has mix matched carbs and he thinks "all" it needs is a new set of carbs. Who knows!! With my limited troubleshooting knowledge I wasn't wiliing to chance it.

squares are the awesome possum. it seems like a lot of people bag on them, but they are the same as a roundnose hull till like.... what '98 or something. if you chop up a hull you can make it anything you want. right now i have an 1100cc square and its a blast. course, theres lots of work to get that power to the water.

meh, its the same bottom deck till 1998, then the rounds got an improved intake tunnel, then in 2008 they got tubbies from the factory. i just like the look of them and feel lower than a round to me. all rider preference though.

I would buy it. Bogging is most likely the carbs. Only issue would be the difference in compression which may indicate the cylinder had a mild seizure at some point. But even that is within 10% so it should not affect performance. Just use the compression and carb issue to possibly get a better price.

Just verify compression look at the skis overall condition and make sure it starts...getting it to run right from where it's at is easy....a lot of people here will help.
