should i stick with stock carb?

i have a sn superjet with a coffman sizzler, and high comp head, should i run a stock 44 or will i get a lot of gain from dual 44s? im new to this site so go easy on me if im being retarted. also, is the coffman sizzler a good pipe? it only has 2 rings on it so im assuming its set up for top end unfortunately.

thanks,
Brad

The Coffman sizzler is a fine pipe.
I wouldn't go to dual carbs on your engine, because the cases are really best with a single carburetor.
You would probably benefit from a better, larger single carburetor.

on my boat i run a stock single carb 701 with a head and factory b-pipe. my brothers boat has a stock 701 with a coffmans sizzler. i am very surprised on how close they are on the bottom end.....

sounds like you have a good setup

So how about the worth of upsizing a single carb on a limited(ish) 61x in a surf application? I would expect gains high in the powerband but how would low to mid range be affected??

I'm in this same boat right now (but don't want to go to duals ona 61x) and am wondering if it would be worth it with no porting done.

Yes,
A wetjet or aftermarket 46mm (4 hole circuit) will help a little every where with some really good compression with Factory Pipe b limited setup w/ MSD enhancer.
A good impeller too.

I assume your running the stock 61X 44mm carb?
(3 hole circuit)

Yes, stock carb and manifold now, with a couple of screens removed from the stock f/a. Other than that I've just got a mildly high compression head, a bpipe (both chambers to choose from), concord 13/17 and a top loader grate.

I don't have any experience with this on a two stroke but I know on a four stroke being a bit undersized intake side may actually make more low end power because it keeps the velocity up and also provides a better signal to the carb.

What I don't want to do is spend the last of my budget on a carb for minimal gains or if I'd be better off putting the money elsewhere (Enhancer, lightened flywheel, porting, ect?).
