Shoulder pain

I have some sort of shoulder injury and was wondering if anyone else in the the stand up world has this problem. It like when I ride or pick up anything heavy my left shoulder hurts between the blade and the spine. It's a pretty sharp pain and makes me take alot for breaks from riding. I need to see a doc but figure that it may be a common problem.

OK, I looked for a few days and found it could be a rhomboid strain, I lay on a tennis ball and roll it around between my spine and left shoulder blade. Seems to allow me to ride for a little longer. I have had this pain for quite some time now.

Probably not the same thing, but I have something jacked up on the front side of my left deltoid that I keep aggravating on my ski. I seriously think all the brap from my new jetworks motor caused it. I wonder if I have a suit, lol. Anyway, I have been ignoring it for about 6 months now and it just went away. Procrastination wins again!

After riding about 20 minutes I can't even look down. I may have to get a blaster 1, sucks azz, but I found a 1 owner 96 one for a grand. Got to see what the VA says about my shoulder, since it is technically service related, maybe I can get DV plates.

One thing to take into consideration is there are three muscles that overlap in the area your talking about. the levator scapula, rhomboid and trap. Active release therapy hurts like a biotch but works wonders along with daily stretching.

Personally I have a torn levator, cause my shoulder to droop accompanied my a dull throbbing pain. Its a repetitive stress injury do to the type of work i do. I changed the way i completed the task as much as I could and it helped.

I hit the gym a couple times a week, maybe once some weeks, but once it starts hurtung it just gets worse. I tired working my way through it back when I was in Diego Garcia and it just kept hurting more and more, kinda like a stressed tendon that wont go away.
The Navy gave me a stretchy band to use before I got out but it didn't help (HM=Here's Motrin, IDC= I Don't Care, Here's Motrin).

I found an Irenew bracelet on the ground this moring at the HEB so I'm gonna see it it helps, hahaha.

It's the muscle you use when doing a shrug??? or at least mine was. My wife can hear that stuff popping from across the room like snap crackly pop. . My ski will never wear out cause I can't really ride too much anymore so I'm building a Beemer (not bimmer)

Have your ole lady or whatever rub the knots out, that buys me a 30 minute ride. You WILL have to adjust your riding style.

Look at massaging your scalenes and pectoralis minor. I am willing to bet both of these muscles are super tense and being problematic for you. They pull the shoulder forward and up causing all sorts of shoulder and neck pain.

Remember, a body that constantly moves and avoids adapting a static positon(beyond sleeping) for long periods of time tends to be less injury prone. Learn to get up from the computer, move around, and stretch what needs to be stretched.

If its a sharp pain that stops you in your tracks or hurts to breathe you probably have a rib out, of course this is just my best guess from not actually evaluating it myself but if you know of a good chiropractor I would start there... This happens to me occasionally and I have seen it in clinic many times already and im still an intern.
