With the group I ride with its really about learning and one-upping each other. Were all fairly new so just landing a simple trick is an accomplishment.
You defintley get more ballsy with friends around. You think, "
k, they expect me to do something, so I better pull this off or hurt myself trying." LOL...
The first time I rode a ski I was hoooooooked. I loved it, it was challenging but I could enjoy myself just riding. If I wanted to push for something more difficult it was just a squeeze of the throttle away. I choose my level of involvement.
As far as hot chicks in Bikini's, LOL i'm 34 and married with a beautiful 10mo old little girl and and another crumb snatcher on the way. Chicks just blur into the landscape for me.

That or you aren't willing to try anything hard without friends around. Either you're too afraid to get hurt or you're too afraid to accomplish something cool and have zero bragging rights. Pulling your first backflip is still BS to your friends if no one will confirm it.
