SXR side rail caps really heavier than hydro turff replament?

Each one are a little over 2 lbs. I put both of them on a scale together and it was almost at 6 lbs. Honestly, I believe the turf replacement looks way better than the stock rail cap.

i like the stock also, but if it would save me 5 lbs, I would do it. I have read some post claiming 10lbs.

I hated my stock rail caps compared to the look of the turf. Also I had major cracking in all the rivet holes that held them on so I'm glad I took them off. It's just one more place for water to get it. Turf em

Ok, mine are Blowsion ones, so I can't speak for any of the others out there, but mine weigh 1lb 1.6oz each. Surely lighter than the stock rails, but don't forget you still need to add some turf over these, so turf alone will prob still be lighter.

Interestingly, my turf has not peel off yet and I guess I did a good job turfing them.

Turf is the way to go...no need for caps. They don't "DO" anything.

the turn gives you a nasty rash on your forearms and underarms when your riding surf.
