free tip if you use the oem hose that goes there originally and cut to the right length and put another hose smaller underneath like a 2" section of the fuel fill hose they last forever . our new one a super strong and have had no issue yet with cooler colors
I'm having a hard time picturing this - where does the extra piece go exactly?

thats where it goes. but it sucks, if you want both to come off they never do, if you only want one then both come off and you all ways get covered in black gunk. i have become a big fan of simplifying my ski as much as possible. and this is just one of those things to do.

I'd bet it goes on the stinger to act as a bushing to make the bpipe stinger the same OD as the ID of the stock cut hose.

Jet Ski Solutions sells an all aluminum stinger enlargement kit that makes the OD on a Factory Pipe stinger the same OD as the stock water box. It's like $25 and when installed you simply cut down the stock exhaust hose and hook it up. The stock hose will never tear or break.

X-Scream does a similar mod as well. The bad news is I have 3 of the factory elbows and now need a 2 3/8" x 2 3/8" elbow so they are useless to me.
