I run a single Riva 48 Powerbomb on my Frankenstein, and couldn't be happier.
Very nice carb. Smooth explosive power all the way to the top and very easy to tune.

So are Full Spectrums.

So with that said, what do you consider a "freestyle carb"? :dunno:

I'd say that good racing carbs will provide linear fuel delivery and atomization from bottom to top.
Incidentally, those characteristics will make them excellent freestyle carbs as well.
There is no pigeon-holed "racing only" or "freestyle-only" aspect to carburetors.
The perfect carburetor meters fuel to meet an AF ratio 1:14.7 throughout all throttle ranges.

That's the chemically correct ratio. Max torque ratio is closer to 12:1.

Thanks. You get the point.

Since you showed up....I hear that Blackjacks make great carbs for very decent money.
I almost bought one, but things didn't work out that way.

Creative RE Purchasing
a good tuned single will also give your more riding time vs. going with duals

I'm just about even right now between my old setup and my new setup. I know that I am drinking more fuel than bluegtate's boat with basically the same setup, except he has just a regular aftermarket Mikuni carb. Say we both top off and ride the exact same amount of time, when you look at the gas tank, say my tank is at the bottom of the "W", his will a little above the "W".

There is no good reason why one carb setup over another should consume more fuel than the next setup.
Sure, there are differences, but the best hitting setup will consume the right amount of fuel.
If another setup uses less, it's less ideal. If another setup uses more, it's also less ideal.

Think about this: If your buddy uses twice as much gas as you in the same riding conditions & riding style, one of the two boats is not performing properly.

However: Load has quite a bit to do with this, too. If our (me & Phill's) personal Jetski Bitch Brian (has no ski, tends to the beach cart and hopes for rides) who weighs 130lbs with wet wetsuit rides Phill's ski, it will use quite a bit less gas than with Phill's 240lbs on there.

Threadjack: Two weekends ago was the first time I rode a Blaster, and it was in 5-14ft Oregon Surf. :haha:

That ski is awesome. I gotta get me one.

IDOK- I have a green racing single 48. That was before they were Black jacks. It is in perfect shape. Only reason I am not running it is because I wanted to use stock flame arrestor, so I bought a single 46mm. Small craft advisory all weekend, so we will most likely be making a trip up there sometime this weekend to ride. I'll throw it in the van.
