SJ Hood liner removal and replacement

I know many of you have removed your hood liners so here is my situation.
I'm wanting to put some holds in my RN hood before I paint it. I was going to fab/glass up some buckets and then cut the holes and install them behind.
My question is, is it possible to remove the stock liner with minimal or no damage to be able to re-install it. Funds,materials,and time are getting tight so I do not want to have to make a new liner at this time. Besides I will probably get a hood eventually anyways. Just would like some holds. If not I suppose I will just wait. I know Blowsion has the drop-ins but man, $$$$. Any how all answers or suggestion will be appreciated.

it won't cost much less to do it without the liner.

i dont have a link but i saw some drop in holds on ebay made for the RN SJ hood and i think they were only $60.

i know this doesn't quite answer your question, but i thought i would share anyway...
