I am targeting a 18psi pop off. I put 65g springs in. I'm registering 22-25 psi. Only way to drop the psi lower is to increase N/S, correct?Remove one of the seats and look at the number stamped on the bottom. Pretty sure it's 1.5 and you should stick with it if so. Use springs to adjust popoff.
No, haven't verified. Ski is at my buddy's place. Will have to check tomorrowI'd leave it as-is at 22 and try it. Other than that you can get into trimming springs down which is tricky, or step up to a 1.8 N/S which are rare. As per @orangefinger 's suggestion, I'd stick with 1.5's. I don't recall ever putting anything bigger than that in a set of 38's
(Did you verify that they are 1.5's???)
If your screws are over two turns out you need to go up a sizeGot the mods completed. Went down to Elephant Butte NM on Sunday to do some tuning. Elevation is 4,300.
Ended up replacing N/S to 2.0 in order to achieve pop off pressure of 18psi with 65gr springs.
High and low screws indeed up being set at 2.25 turns out. I might end up backing the low speed out a smidge more.
All in all, the ski rips!
One of the local racers took a ride on it and thought it was every bit as quick as his 800.
Still need to put the Hooker on.
Why so?If your screws are over two turns out you need to go up a size

It maxes out, yes. But it is not recommended. Anyone here will recommended upjetting when you're at 2+ turns out. The 3 turns out adjustment is great for seeing if it helps your carb setup or hurts it, and then you jet accordingly. In the tuning guide on the forum here it talks about that. Why so?
Mikuni manual says the adjustment maxes out at 3.0 turns
