SJ Ocean Pro Ride Plate Opinions

I wanted to get your opinions on the 3 different models of Ocean Pro ride plates for the 1990-2007 Superjets. There's the "Open Ocean", "Channel", and the "Racing" model. What does everyone think of each of these and what is each one of these rides best for, freeride, surf, buoy racing, etc.?

The first two pics are "Open Ocean" model with 4 scaggs.

The second two pics are the "Channel" model with 2 scaggs.

The last two pics are the "Racing" model with no scaggs.

Channel is going to be better fro freeride. The Ocean is your surf. But Freeride and Surf is really the same thing if your freeriding in the surf. The Ocean will have more grip in turns, not loose.

Thanks for the input on this. What do you think of the "Racing" model without the scaggs?

Superjets turn flat so adding fins to the rideplate aren't as helpful as they are on a Kawasaki. You may want an extended plate if you are tall and/or over 180.

Personally I loved it over the Ocean Plate on my old 550's.

Those 550's are very narrow and nimble. I'm going to see how the "Racing" model plate does on my fixed steer Superjet. I'd imagine without the scaggs/fins it'll break the back end loose and slide if I want it to, yet still be fun in the waves and keep the nose planted on flat water better than the stock rideplate.

It's way too subjective to not keep trying plates till you find "yours". Superjets do turn flat but that's a good thing in my opinion. You can lay a 90 to 07 hull over to the bondline (no sponsons) and do mellow carves high speed with your hip as a sponson. The plate effects how you turn flat with more ridges and such meaning less slide and more "catch"
