SJ oem chinpad, defoamded and turfed?

Anybody ever defoam a chinpad and turf straight onto the plastic? I think its a smooth surface under the foam so should work. wondering if it will look good. I'm trying to get a slicker profile look without spending a ton a coin

Bad picture but I did exactly what you are thinking. It's been 10+ years so I don't remember all he details, I didn't wrap the turf around the edges and just cut the turf at a 45 degree angle around all edges and it lasted for a season before I removed it for an Xmetal pole. Had a buddy try and wrap the turf around the edges with less than desirable results.

Yeah that looks really good though. I started it last night, turfing it even just to the edge is a bitch, I wasn’t able to finish it.

I might just make my own chinpad out of carbon and then leave it glossy so looks good and not worry about turfing it

I glued the turf directly to the foam. Here's my square nose version- I just swapped a round nose pole on and am doing the exact same thing to it.

I turfed my chinpad. I ended up reinforcing the inside with a layer or two of fiberglass cloth to stiffen it up. I also cut out the foam from the pad to fill the two recesses where the mounting tabs are. I cut the turf at a 45deg angle. It has held up for about 9 years now. I'll try and find a pic.

Nope just for looks lol no ya I’m probly guna turf just the top part Im just not very good at turfing so haven’t done it yet
