SJ RN AC Pole / Steering Cable Problem

I just installed my Waterdawg Diablo lowered hood and a std length AC pole on my round nose and my steering cable seems to be to long now. I measured the distance between the steering cable bracket and the turn plate on both poles and there was about a 1" difference.

I purchased the AC pole used but I do not believe the previous owner shortened it or anything.

Anyone heard of this problem ??

Try adjusting both ends until it fits better. I just recently realized there is an adjustment at both ends, ( turn nozzle, and turn plate) ( Loosen lock nut and turn clockwise.) when I installed a new Xmetal -3.25 steering plate. I had to make all kinds of adjustments to make it work properly

I'm using the same turn plate.

There is definitely something wrong with my handle pole. I know you can adjust it alittle with the lock nuts but this is so long that i cant even turn my handle bar left.

Im gonna have to contact the seller to see if he modified the handle pole.

I'll get some pictures for better reference.

In the pic's I drilled a new hole for the ball joint to temporary fix it. With the cable that long it will be impossible to use a straigh bar turn plate =(

Would it be possible to cut that metal sleve and shorten/re-thread the end of it ?? I really do not want to have to modifly my steering cable.

Yea, hooking up that cable was the last thing I had to do so i was pretty bummed out. Everything else went together pretty smooth.

I'll poke around and see if I can find more info on FX1 poles and throttle cables.

One other thing I noticed was that the oem Superjet chin pad sits to low around the turn plate so I had to use a few washers to get it to clear everything without catching on anything.

**Update**

Just found this thread.

i have had this happen more than once with my superjet and my 750's.
actually more times then i care to admit.
i tend to mount them back on the pole on wrong lip.

The cable probably is in backwards, I've done that once or half-dozen times, but only when I drink too much. Just gotta swallow your pride and fix it. If it is right...and you like the handlepole it's best to modify the handlepole to mount the cable, you're gonna break cables...do you want to have to modify them everytime you have to replace them? You should be able to make this work, Blowsion sells a turnplate that is moved forward 1", and BUN Freestyle sells one that is -2'', I've had no problem installing either, you just have to do whatever it takes, I guess.
