Sj starting issue

My buddy just called, he's a 100 miles away. His sj will start as long as the start putton is pushed, as soon as you let go it stalls. I'm not there to check it out, any suggestions that I can tell him to check? Thanks

sounds like bad ignition. but with the little info to go on I would say it could be anything.:question:

Thanks Tom, I'm not there but I'll send him the specs to test the electrics, hopefully he has a meter with him. He also said it stalled on him a few times but fired right back up. I told him to pull the ebox apart and check connections.

Turned out to be a bad start/stop switch
