Super Jet SJ takes a long time to start

My 94 SJ take a long time to start if it had sat a while after I have put a B pipe on it and rejetted according to the specs. Once running it rips and fires right up usually without throttle. But if it sat a while like overnight or during the week while not riding, it takes forever. I usually have to alternate between the choke and not choked as well until i can get it where the throttle doesnt immediately kill it when starting.I havent gotten Around to getting a primer on it and I'm still using choke, but it never did this before. I hate to mess with the LS screw as it runs so well, but could it be just a little lean upon starting, or does it seem like something a primer would help once I get it installed? I know I have read the LS really only affect idle, but it seems to run and idle well, it's just the initial starting? I really only ask as I have friends that skis will fire with no choke or primer after sitting for a week with a split second touch of the start button?

Possible fuel lines losing prime causing the problem.Primer would take care of the issue but not dealing with what may be causing the problem.Check all your lines and where they connect up.Feel around the entry and exit points of the carbs to see if there is any leakage.Don't overlook the obvious.

Needle and seat are brand new, same with fuel line and zip tied pulled tight with pliers. It seems it was bad when I initially rebuilt my carb now it seems its gotten better, but still there slightly. Is there such a thing as having the "break in" a newly rebuilt carb?

I would think a broken reed would cause running issues elsewhere as well not just upon initial start after sitting a day or two and a leaky N/S would cause running issues elsewhere as well.

Check valve is good, anti siphon valves?? Not sure what you mean? the little plastics flaps that are impossible to find if you drop them on the carpet? Yeah replaced those if thats what you meant.:fingersx:

I had the same problem and I moved the low speed out a bit to richen it up. Just do half a turn out and if it doesnt help then turn it back that half turn to where it was.

Cured my hard starts by just making my low speed adjs a tad richer. Not so much that it affects performance, just enough to get it started easy every time. Havent had any problems with cold/warm starts ever since.
