Skat magnum wearring

I don't think that is correct, I personally would call Skat. Their email response can sometimes be a little slow.

So now i can bore this bigger. Clearance between impeller and ring should be 0.2mm. But i dont have 148impeller yet so i dont know what size it is.. is it 148sharp or?

Next week i send this to machinery with other engine parts. No time to wait for new impeller. Skat is not responding to mail and my english is not so good that i can call them

If I were you I would machine the sleeve while it is installed in the housing. That way any deformation of the sleeve from being installed in the housing will be accounted for (compression of the diameter due to the interference fit, imperfections in the roundness of the housing)

Basically the same reasons why cylinder sleeves are machined after they are installed in the cylinder.

And now u say it i thought that one my self too. But i figured that its hard to bore when stator is there on the way. But now it can be done. Then i just add stator last
There was a learnig process here. I had no idea how to get stator and wearring to move. But now i handle it.

Well i thought that skat 1 piece, did not have steel wearring/sleeve. because its ages since ive seen one.
Most other 1 piece billet pumps, the alu housing is the wearring (no sleeve).
But good thing you got the thing apart, now it should be easy to pute the steel sleeve in a lathe an machine inside diameter to 148mm.

regarding clearrance for impeller, this can also vary, when you repithc impeller, the diameter will in or decrease depending on wich way to pull in the blades.

What if something scratches that pump. If its only alu and you cant change anything does it mean that pump is garbage?? I dont see the logic on that.
I know that after impeller adjustment it can be different size. But i believe there is a starting point for bore size and that i need to find out.

I'm only a very amateur (hack) machinist so take it for what it's worth, but to me it would be way harder to hold that sleeve on it's own than it would be installed in the housing. Especially when it is near size and only 1.5mm thick. Also I would expect it to be an interference fit in the housing and that will cause it to be undersized after it's installed. Wear rings are probably not quite the level of precision of a cylinder sleeve but it just makes way more sense to me to do it in the housing.

However I'd urge talking to the actual machinist that is going to do the machining, listen to him not me.

Place im taking it has been there since year 1944. They do all kind of stuff. Military stuff tractor engines you name it.. I think they will get it done either way. But thanks for yous thoughts.

you are correct with your thinking. also by boring it assembled you insure concentricity between the bearing bores and the wear ring bore.

Then it scrathes a bit, and if it really licorices up, a new housing is put on. Dont make a space rocket out of it, most people get 50 ride hours a year, if lucky. anything can break.
Remember the standard 10 years a ago, with skat mag pumps, how the cracked with salt formning between housing and wearring/sleeve.
More importantly, in freesyle, when ditching the stainless sleeve, you save weight. Yes you could use a nylong wearring like seadoo. But the pure alu housing seems to work for alot of people :)

good call taking it to a machinist, im also very basic in machining world.

Yes i have seen those salt pumps broken. Our water is only 1-2% salt when rest of the world is 2-4 it is big change.. so i dont have so big problem with it.

I ride surf and some shows with blaster so weight is not problem. It is fat lady no matter what hahaScreenshot_20220409-004547_Instagram.jpg
