Skat service is garbage/broken trim cable

I have a predator with the kavinci pump in it (stupid) and the pump came with trim (stupid).

I installed a brand new Skat straight pull cable purchased from blowsion. I just have a little 701 and the cable is a month old. Last night the cable broke pump side where the threaded rod meets the cable. Blowsion says contact skat so I do. Skat laughs at me when i simply ask if it could be a manufacture defect when the cable was built. He then goes on to tell me that the straight pull systems are stupid and cables always break because they flex at the end where it pulls on the nozzle. My cable pulls straight in and it does not flex about at all when you pull it. Straight in and straight out. Heres the problem I have with all of this, if the straight pull system is so stupid why would they offer a cable knowing that its going to break why would they still offer it?

Does anyone else break 1 trim cable per month? lol I know the cable broke because trim doesnt belong on a surf ski yeah yeah yeah I get it But seriously 1 month almost to the day with pretty minimal riding time on the lake (3 minutes from my house) I had a bike cable for my straight pull fx1 kawi pump swap and it never broke lol in fact it lasted almost a year without a issue.

Not Skat, but my cable kept breaking and I wasn't even using the trim. I was able to crimp on a new end at least 3 times before it got too short but I finally just stripped the trim out and sold it off.

I would recommend looking at the resting tension of the cable. It should be like a throttle cable with a tiny bit of slop so when you aren't using the trim there isn't and constant force being put on the cable.

I've had my drop nozzles set up for several years using Skat trak cables and have never had an issue despite the forces applied to them being comparable.

If it keeps happening I would suggest adding some sort of sleeve in the area where it keeps breaking to stiffen it up.

yeah its deffinatly not gonna happen anymore. The pull couldnt be any more straight from cable to trim ring. Trim is coming off its pretty pointless anyways. blowsion politely told me to get bent too. ill take some pictures when i get home.

Take the trim cable to your local push n pull place ( I wrote a review about a place in Chico you can ship too if need) and get a stronger/thicker cable.

It's a piece of garbage. An unrefined nightmare. also The impellers they use are made in Taiwan and look like Ray Charles made them with a Dremel.

I'm on my second pump already. It's a good design but just a pos. Second pump did not line up with itself at all. The pump is currently installed with no alignment dowls between the wear ring and the stator section because when you have the dowls in place the impeller sits against the wear ring and the feet to mount to the ski sit crooked. Lol it's halarious. I tottaly bought the wrong ski. This this is trash.

The first cable was Some garbage that Chris grace thought him and his dad could shorten and re soldier the cable back on.

I apologize. I wasn't trying to derail. Just trying to understand the issue at hand with what seems to be sub par parts. Appreciate the honesty and hope you get it all squared away

What I found to be the big problem with the straight pull is when you jump even a bunny hop when you land off the throttle the force of landing in the water pushes the nozzle up this folds the cable over and over and it breaks.
If you put a piece of tubing over the cable it will increase life dramatically.
Pull the trim all the way in. Take a sharpie mark the cable where it comes into the outer jacket.
Then make a cable support that wraps around the cable and is slightly shorter then your sharpie mark.
This will allow the cable to push in and the lever will move and stop kinking the cable at the back fitting causing it to break.
If you don't understand what I am saying.
Just stand behind your ski and smack the nozzle up with your hand. You see the cable fold.
That's what breaks it

Kinda odd how all the cable ends are perfectly cut.... Almost as if the end fell off cause skat didn't put it on right lol. Must have been 455 on a Friday when my cable got built. Either way it's not folding over I know this because annoyingly enough the lever would be pushed in with most tail heavy landings lol. The cable alignment couldn't be any more arrow straight than it is. Bottom line my 1 month old cable broke and neither skat nor blowsion will do anything about it haha. This is most of the reason @JetManiac gets as much business as I can give him.
