Ski bogs

Not a mechanic. Ski usually runs good and is responsive first or two jumps . Seems like when I go over a few boat waves while throttling it or come out of a slide - when I hit the throttle it bogs down . If I feather throttle , it usually catches and rpms increase . Carb, Stator - Ideas ? .

Is the ski New to you or is the symptom new? If it is a new issue I would drain the tank and check for water.

It has been happening for about a year . I have a second ski so kind of put on back burner .

When I throttle it at first - goes like a banshee . Seams like after I throttle it a couple of times , the starts to bog . Also , after coming out of a slide , bogs at first - then clears up for a while .

Water in tank is an easy thing to check for and is common for your symptoms

Check your hood seal, especially if it is happening after hitting wakes etc. you may be getting a big spray of water into the engine compartment each time you splash down.

Checked fuel filters - clean . Drained what I think is a water separator - a little bit of slimy residue drained out which smelled like fuel . I do have a very small leak in exhaust which lets small amount of water in bilge but I have two bilge pumps . Ran ski yesterday and today with very little bog occurring .
