ski insurance

For those of you that have insurance on your ski.

Who do you use? what do they cover? and $$$ each month?

I am looking to get some when i move b/c most likely the ski will just be sitting outside. Everything i looked into just covers the depleted cost of a stock ski. Anyone cover modded ski's? :1zhelp:

200 for my ski via Progressive, with liab, comp and collision though it only covers the stock ski..

but how do you have insurance on all your a/m parts and etc?

can the ski be insured based on an appraised value that takes into consideration a/m parts, labor, etc?

My 2006 hull will end up being titled as a 1990 ski. I'm sure the insured value would not even cover the cost of replacing just the hull if it were to get stolen. Not to mention hood, pole, motor etc.

I thought the insurance was to cover the OTHER GUY'S injuries in the event of a crash.

If that's the case, who care what it looks like or what's in the ski. The only thing that matters is the size (mass) and how much damage she can do.

about $90 per year.

Both of mine are with State Farm. One is insured for 20K, the other for 12K. I can't remember how much it was, but it was surprisingly inexpensive.

90 & 96 superjet ~ $170 a year for both, I believe comprehensive only (or whatever the minimum is)

I wasn't thinking of it from a liability standpoint.

I was thinking of replacement cost for a lost/stolen/sunk ski.

I pay about $375 for the year. Based on a valu of $5000 for ski - which is low as its was new in the fall of 2007.

Liability of $500,000 or a million I forget right now. But that covers fire/theft/any damage. With I think $500 dollar deductable.
