View attachment 196810Thought I would post progress pics of my ski. The steering cable broke so figured it was time to completely tear down and rebuild my ski. Plus since I can now do basic automotive paint with my airbrushes and airguns I figured it is a good time to give the ski a new paint job.
The plan as of now is to paint the front half of the ski sparkle white fading to sparkle blue at the back with stylized bubbles on the front similar to what I did with my Sea Doo sit down (see attached pic). I want skulls, flames and pentagrams however, if I ever wanted to sell the ski most people would not want pentagrams and skulls which is why I'm doing a neutral paint job that should look good and be sellable.
Also going to returf and maybe widen my tray some.

Todays progress was to get the whole ski taken down, old sticker graphics and hood seal removed plus I got basic sanding done of the top deck. later this week I will take the turf off.

If anyone has some paint ideas send 'em my way.

I use Auto-Air paint and 2 part urethane clear coat. So far I have Auto-Air sealer dark as a base over the whole ski, then white (mixed with silver), over the white is Hot Rod Sparkle white which is a transparent paint. For the back of the ski I used sparklescent blizzard blue. For the stylized bubbles I used a dark blue and then a slightly lighter mix of the same blue to touch up areas.

It took quite a few hours today to take all of the masking and vinyl stencils off.
Here is first pics of the paint job so far. Going to do more but this is a start.
