I have 50ft of paracord that will float tucked under my steering pad. It's wound in a way that it'll play out without getting tangled. There's an elastic holding it in place, so it'll be easy to rip out of there if my ski starts sinking. Skis usually take some time before they fully submerge and head for the bottom, so you should have time to grab the end of the cord that's sticking out.

I ride in 5-15ft so I'm not terrible worried about it and am scuba certified so I can find it, I'm more worried about my father in law...lol
