Ski runs poor after crash for a bit

What would I have to adjust? The ski is a 92 SN with a 6m6 bottom 61x topend single carb 701. Fresh rebuild including carb. Engine passes leak down test. Carb was jetted with a jet kit from jetmaniac and has a 95gm pop off spring. The ski runs awsome until I crash and pull the lanyard. Once I reattach and restart the ski it runs poorly like kinda boggy and no power. For a minute or two. Then the ski starts running great again. So what do I need to change or ajust? Haven't had a chance to pull the spark plugs and see what they look like. And when I start riding from shore it runs good.

Pretty sure the single carb was not getting wet. There was water inside. But I know I've had way more water than what was in there and had it run fine.

i would check your needle and seat. it could be dribbling fuel after its off and that would flood it essentially, causing it to act boggy when started. Once the excess fuel gets burned and fuel is flowing properly, it runs fine again. i went through a similar issue

The needle and seats are brand new. It's not just for a few seconds. It's for like a minute or two. Kinda think it might be the water though. The few times when I crashed and it did it was when I would be on my knees do a dount so the ski slides backward. The rear end drops and I have it straight up and down in the water. Then the ski falls over. Would make sense if there was water inside that some would end up in the carb. The water was too cold to notice if it did it when I crashed normally. Going to the lake tomorrow though. This was also near the end of my ride when the ski was fullest with water.

if you have a stock hood the carbi is taking water for sure, not the best for a rebuilt motor ,i went througth the same situation with mine .i ended up fixing the hood and changing the hood seal

It being like that for a minute or two after crashing sounds only like it would be water. Have you blocked off the front air vents?

I had a issue with this (still fighting it) I would splash the air filters and the fuel/oil would froth up in the carb causing it to run like crap until it all cleared out which could take a while. I changed my intake design this year but havent tested it yet. The biggest thing I found was using good oil that wont blend with water. I made a post about it last year. Try using good synthetic oil and see if it helps. I have really good luck with quicksilver pwc full synthetic from walmart. Its 38 a gallon and wont froth up when water gets in the carb.

I think it is water getting in the carb. I went through this problem all last season trying to ride in the waves on a stock square with no hood mod and an open air filter. I beat my engine up riding like that. Sometimes it would take a full minute at wide open throttle to finally clear out. Then the boat would run great...until I fell again.
