I started trying to get my ski going a few weeks ago after 2 years of not touching it. It ran perfectly the last time I used it but when I tried starting it, the bendix was stuck. I took the flywheel off and took the bendix out to clean it up and it is fine now and opens and closes very easily. I put everything back together but now when I try to start the ski it blows the fuse in the ebox. Im pretty sure I didnt hit the stator with the puller bolts and it looked fine. Is there anything else that could be causing this?

Does anything happen when you hit the start button? or does it blow the fuse before hitting the start button?

Mine is blowing before button. As soon as the fuse makes connection. Anyone have some insight? Brand new battery. Brand new starter relay. Cleaned all contacts in start/stop. Short of pulling the cable from start/stop out of the pole to verify integrity, I’ve checked all I can think of.

You have a dead short. someplace your power is going directly to ground. follow all your red power connections inside E-Box first
then start chasing components? a multi-meter will be the tool to use

Pretty cool how a thread from 2012 came up in search to help you solve your issue............

Double-check the two Positive Red Cables going to the Relay Solenoid. Are they reversed?

Did you use an OEM Relay or an A/M Relay? Sometimes, the A/M Relays come with Posts "reversed". Is the "Hot" POS Cable energizing the Starter w/o the Start Button and the Relay Switch closing?

Looking at the installed Yamaha SuperJet Ebox as it comes from the Factory, the Left Cable should go to the POS Battery Post and the Right POS Cable should go to the Starter Post.

And the POS and NEG Cables to the Starter are not reversed? POS goes to Starter Post with Nut. The NEG Ground Cable goes to Starter Padeye Bolt to Engine Crankcase.

So what did you find out about the Fuse blowing during plug in? Did you fix the problem? What fixed the problem?
